What is Middle School Lover?
19 year old Catherine Lieu releases her first ever collection of poetry originally written between 2006 and 2009, offering an inside look at the life of a teenager. The honest, raw, and even sometimes poignant poems are explored even more in the included 'Behind the Scenes of Middle School Lover', in which explanations and stories of each of the poems are discussed in detail by the author herself, making 'Middle School Lover' an unique experience to be enjoyed by readers of all genres.
When I first announced that I would be releasing an eBook, I decided to to an update post every week about the progress of the book and what it was and all that stuffs. You can read all my posts about Middle School Lover here.
What is it? Essentially, Middle School Lover started out as a collection of poems I originally wrote when I was in middle school (2006-2009), which is where the title came from. After I started to put them together, I felt that maybe there was more for me to say. So, I thought about explaining each of the poems (what they meant to me, why I wrote them, who I wrote them about, the form, and secrets about them) and thought that would make a really unique and interesting reading experience.
Why do I have to pay for it? I made the decision to have MSL available for purchase because 1) I had spent MONTHS slaving myself over it and 2) I am an unemployed student and thought that maybe I would have another way of supporting myself.

Currently I do not have a hosted website so that your PayPal will be automatically charged, so instead, you must EMAIL ME at lieucatherine@gmail.com and I will PERSONALLY send you an invoice via PayPal so that payments can be directed through that.
In the email to me, you must include:
1. Subject line: MSL Request
2. Include your PAYPAL email address
(if it is different from the one you are using)
(I will automatically email you the file to the email you have used to contact me)
3. How much you would like to pay
(the initial/minimum cost is $5, but if you feel generous to donate more to help me out personally and help me make more projects like this, I would greatly appreciate that
Because I will be personally sending you the invoice and sending you the eBook, if there are any issues, I will be personally dealing with them with you directly, which makes things a bit more easier!

This is the easiest way to provide payment.

How it works:

Why Should I Buy it?
My whole purpose of making this project has simply been for me to see if I could do it, and that's the truth. I always wanted to have this particular collection of poems published, and since I was working on a novel at the time, I decided to publish this one on the side to sort of get a taste of the writing life.
While writing it, I realized how important it was/is to me that there is a voice given to the future inhabitants of the world. It's hard for me to see people struggle the way I have had and felt alone. So when I started writing the Behind the Scenes parts, I felt like I had to really be raw and open to how I felt so that other people may not feel so alone anymore.
That has become one of the main goals in this project: so that people don't feel alone. Also, I felt like piety was such a hard thing to do and master, and even though I am definitely not a master in poetry, I'd like to think that poetry and this sort of stuff can actually be pretty cool. You don't need to have a Drs degree or a Masters degree to write poetry. You can be a fifteen year old or a twelve year old. This thought is something that I would really want readers to get out of this entire experience.
This book has been my escape for the last seven months. I have been a slave to it. I don't know how many late nights I spent writing, editing, and formatting. I would come to school on days that I didn't even have school to edit and create this piece, for all the reasons I stated above.
No one wants to pay for anything and would rather everything to be free. I know that. I'm not in this to make money, but because I worked SO hard on this project, am unemployed, and am racking up so much student debt, I decided that selling it would be the best best for me.
